What Precincts.info actually does
Four things, all of them free, none of them holding data the state hasn't already published. The through line is that every one of them exists to take a burden off a volunteer rather than to add a requirement to her week.
The public record, made readable
Twenty-six years of Ohio election history, resolved into cohorts a person can act on: who votes in primaries but skips municipals, who moved in last year, who hasn't been contacted since 2022. Deterministic and inspectable — you can trace any number on the screen back to the rows that produced it, because the code that produced it is public.

- Precinct briefings: localized, plain-English reports on the dynamics of one precinct. Not national talking points forwarded downhill — the specifics of your streets, in language you'd actually use at a door.
- Walk maps: mobile-first routing, built for someone holding a phone in the rain. The goal is a timid lit-dropper becoming a confident conversationalist.
- Field notes: what you learn at the door, kept where you can find it next time. Stored locally, owned by you and your party, exportable on demand.

Quorum, and why less procedure is the point
Central committee meetings have a way of becoming about the procedure rather than the outcome — roll call, credentials, whether we have a quorum, whether that vote counted. An hour disappears before anyone discusses an actual precinct. Quorum exists to make that overhead small and then get out of the way, so the meeting can be about what the party is going to do.
It is built inside the constraints Ohio already sets: ORC 3599.35 prohibits proxy voting, and ORC 3517.03 governs committee structure. A clean attendance record that satisfies both is table stakes. The design goal is not a more rigorous process — it is fifty minutes of the meeting given back.
Continuity without lock-in
Captains rotate. Institutional memory shouldn't rotate with them, and it shouldn't be held hostage either. Knowledge stays with the precinct seat so the next volunteer doesn't start from a blank page, and it stays exportable so that neither the captain nor the party is ever stuck with us. Both halves of that sentence are load-bearing.
